Staff from M J Bushell recently came joint-third in a regional football tournament which saw our boys go head-to-head against teams from nearby businesses.
Earlier this month, our team, made up of Corné Von Wielligh, Joe Hersom, Matthew Bain, Matt Warwick and Will Fisher, played three games.
It was a tough evening for the boys, who initially lost 2-0 to local team Fisk Fire, after a very unlucky Corné gave away a penalty and, unfortunately, was unable to save it.
By the time our second game came around, however, we were automatically propelled to the quarter finals, as our opponents for some reason or another didn’t show up!
In the quarters, we took on the winners of Group B and won 2-0, after completely dominating the game. The goals were scored by Matthew Bain.
In the semi-finals, we played our friends at A J Chambers, in a very close game which we sadly last 1-0. Team MJB played well, but we definitely missed out on a fair few chances and our opponents scored the solo goal on the break.
Team MJB was named joint-third and everyone went home for a well-deserved nap around 9:30pm.
