In a charity tournament hosted by First Intuition to raise money for The Children’s Society, our M J Bushell team went undefeated to win the first ever FI Cup.
We started off with four league games which saw a debut for Michael, lots of quality goals and solid performances all round. After winning each game, we topped the league table, giving us a favourable semi-final draw. The semi final saw some tired bodies, but a comfortable win overall.
Onto the final…
We conceded early and it looked like it wasn’t going to be our day, hitting the woodwork on a few occasions. 1-0 down at Half-time.
Early into the second half, Matt scored a vital equaliser which proved the catalyst as the game was quickly turned around. 2-1 up with 4 minutes to go. A solid defensive performance held our opponents as they committed more bodies forward. With the last kick of the game we got another. 3-1, full time and FI Cup champions!
